My cousin was very happy with this cake. Overall it was a good experience. There was a problem. The website asked me when I wanted the cake delivered. I told them that Thursday, it was Monday. Then under shipping options it only gave me the option for overnight delivery. When the order confirmation came back, the cake had been shipped out that night and was being delivered the next day.

I've been sending my fiance cakes through Bake Me a Wish for years, and it never fails me! I sent him this German Chocolate Cake for the first time and he ABSOLUTELY LOVES it. He said that it's very rich but not too sweet, which is perfect. He also said that the addition of coconut & pecans take the flavor to another level!

I was worried about whether this would be worth the expense and concern about delivery. I shouldn't have been. It was the best chocolate cake I've ever had--the right mix of creamy dark chocolate and crunch, equally perfect with red wine or vanilla ice cream with a simple strawberry and blueberry salad. The recipient was quite pleased, as were our guests, who raved and went back for seconds.

The cake was quite delicious even if not a true German chocolate cake. The frosting was perfect but the cake should be made with a sweet German chocolate and it would've come out lighter in both color and texture.
